Remodel

Originally designed by renowned Kona architect Lucky Bennett, this iconic home is celebrated for its ‘disappearing’ walls and artful angles that frame views while capturing the gentle ocean breezes. To honor Bennett’s legacy and infuse modern elegance, we embarked on a transformative journey. We replaced the formidable a’a lava walls with a circular tiled auto courtyard, natural wood-toned privacy screens, and an inviting ‘front door’ gate. The open-air courtyard with a koi pond welcomes you to a serene oasis where dancing light reflects on the entry wall, creating a soothing ambiance. Interior walls now sport a mirror-smooth Marmorino plaster finish, amplifying the play of light. Modern glass Nana wall doors seamlessly connect the living room to the courtyard and the sunset pool deck. Inside the home, a stunning remodel touched every corner, including the bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen. The redesigned koa wood kitchen takes center stage, now open to the living room. A generously sized pass-through provides access from inside to the new outdoor kitchen and uninterrupted coastal views.

This project masterfully marries timeless design with contemporary living, paying tribute to the past while warmly embracing the future.
