MAUNA KEA RESORT, HAWAII

Remodel and Addition

The transformation of this 1970s Japanese-style home into a contemporary haven was a collaborative effort, seamlessly integrating the talents of an architect, interior designer, landscape designer, and a discerning client.Recognizing the importance of preserving the property’s cultural roots, each living space received meticulous attention, resulting in a cohesive haven. Delicate relocations of walls and the opening of rooms allowed natural light to grace the interiors, fostering an interplay between inside and outside. This created quiet nooks for reflection and open areas for social gatherings.

At the heart of the home is a refreshed central courtyard koi pond, with cherry blossoms, and flowering gardens, enjoyed from every space that circulates around this space enhancing the property’s serenity with a touch of timeless elegance.
